The camouflaged test mule comes with an LED DRL in the headlamp. The motorcycle was launched in the Malaysian market in October. CentroStile Benelli from Italy has designed the motorcycle. It features a scrambler-esque design language, tempered with modern mechanicals. The lighting system is all-LED, and the instrument cluster is a digital unit. The single piece seat complements the upright riding position; and the bike gets a saree guard on the left, in compliance with the norms in the country. The motorcycle was spied in the country for the first time recently.

The neo-retro scrambler draws power from a 499.6cc in-line two cylinder DOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. It is capable of developing 47.5 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The Euro 4 engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission. Benelli has derived the powerplant from the TRK 502.

The Leoncino would be the first retro offering from DSK Benelli in the country.

A 50 mm upside down front fork; and a preload and rebound-adjustable rear monoshock hold the trellis frame. For anchorage, the Leoncino employs dual 320 mm discs at the front, with 4-piston radial callipers. The rear comes with a single 260 mm disc with a single piston calliper. Both brakes have ABS as standard. The 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels are shod with 120-section at the front and 160-section at the rear.
