Volkswagen is displaying the 2017 VW e-up! at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Here are the new pure electric city car's live images from the show.
The VW e-up! was the first pure electric series production EV from Volkswagen when it arrived in 2013. Last year, it received a facelfit along with the rest of the VW up! range. With a length of 3,600 mm, the new model is 60 mm longer. It has larger grille openings, revised front bumper with redesigned trim strips, more angular headlights with LED daytime running lights, modified ORVMs with integrated turn signals, remodelled tail lights and a restyled, dynamically shaped rear bumper. Volkswagen has added three new options to the colour palette.
Along with features carried over from the old model, such as heated windscreen, Climatronic climate control system and Citybrake Emergency Braking function, the new VW e-Up! has a number of additions to the equipment list. These include Coming home/Leaving home light function, rain sensor and composition phone radio with telephone hands-free function and maps+ more dock smartphone integration. The three-spoke steering with a flat bottom has a new design already seen on other latest Volkswagen model. The centre console now has a sharper design.
The 2017 VW e-up! is 3,600 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,492 mm tall. It offers a ground clearance of 135 mm and has a maximum boot space (with rear seat folded down) of 923 litres. Its electric motor generates 82 PS and 210 Nm of torque, and sends power to the wheels via a single-speed transmission. The e-up! can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.4 seconds and has a top speed of 130 km/h. Its 18.7 kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 160 km.
The 2017 VW e-up! range starts at €26,900 (INR 20,50,802.20) and is now on sale in Germany.
