The Nissan Kicks is powered by the HR16DE 1.6-liter gasoline engine that produces 118 hp at 6,300 rpm and 110 lb.-ft. (149.14 Nm) of torque. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit, also found in the Nissan Juke, can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission or the XTRONIC continuously variable transmission. The South American-spec Nissan Kicks is based on the Nissan V platform, while the India-spec Nissan Kicks (codename: Nissan Nissan PB1D) will reportedly be underpinnned by the Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-B platform.
