Likely to get cosmetic upgrades only.
Toyota Indonesia has posted a teaser on their Facebook page, which depicts a large MPV with low bumpers and side skirts, suggesting that a Toyota Innova TRD version is in the works.
Based on what we have seen in TRD versions of various other models from Toyota's stable, the new Innova is likely to feature cosmetic upgrades to the exterior and interior of the MPV. As seen in the teaser, it could sport extended front and rear bumpers that lowers the ground clearance for a sportier stance, extended side skirts and a rear spoiler, while other features expected are exclusive TRD alloy rims and TRD graphics across the side profile.
Changes inside could be minimal. The Innova TRD may come with TRD floor carpets, aluminum pedals, TRD steering wheel, and red contrast stitching for the leather upholstery. As for equipment, it will feature a TFT screen for the MID, ambient LED lighting, an 8-inch entertainment system, and automatic climate control, which are carried over from the regular model.

Since changes will only be cosmetic, power will be sourced from the same 2.4-liter GD diesel engine, which is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Customers seeking a petrol option can get a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine with the same transmission options as the diesel variant.
