Will make its world premiere in Indonesia on November 23.
According to a report from NDTV's Car and Bike, the second generation 2016 Toyota Innova will make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in Noida. This contradicts many other reports suggesting that the new Innova will be unveiled at a separate event, and give the Auto Expo a miss.
The India-spec Toyota Innova will be produced at TKM's factory in Bidadi, Karnataka, although the localization levels of its production is still unclear. An older report stated that Toyota will produce 90,000 units of the Innova per annum, which equates to an average of 7,500 units a month, or roughly 45 percent more than the current Innova.
Based on a re-inforced ladder-frame platform from the Hilux Revo, the new Innova measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and 2,750 mm in wheelbase. Power comes from Toyota’s all-new 2.4-liter GD diesel engine or a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine, as far as the Indonesian market is concerned. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
