The 2016 Ford Taurus has been showcased at the 18th edition of the Chengdu Motor Show (CDMS 2015). The muscly sedan already had its world premiere earlier this year, at the Auto Shanghai 2015.
Set to be priced between 249,800 - 349,800 yuan (INR 26.09 - 36.5 lakhs), the Taurus is proud of its sophisticated design, roomy space and advanced features, as mentioned by the American carmaker. The sedan will be manufactured locally for the Chinese market, at Changan-Ford’s Hangzhou plant.
The Taurus measures 4,996 mm in length, 1,878 mm in width and 1,503 mm in height, and wears 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.
The sizable two-tone leather cabin with dual cockpit design hosts a variety of features including a 10.1-inch Ford SYNC infotainment system, electric seats including the rear which has adjustable lumbar support and massage function (both optional), and the control panel for both equipments hidden under the foldable centre seat cushion.
The powertrain list for the new Ford Taurus for China contains a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ecoboost GTDi engine pushing 245 PS at 5,500 rpm & 350 Nm of torque at 1,750 - 4,000 rpm, and a 2.7-litre V6 Ecoboost GTDi motor pumping 329 PS at 5,500 rpm & 475 Nm at 2,500 - 4,500 rpm. Both engines are mated to 6-speed automatic transmission only.
