Comes in two new variants: Jaguar XJ R-Sport and Jaguar XJ Autobiography.
Along with the F-Pace, the facelifted Jaguar XJ has also made its motorshow debut. It will start arriving in dealerships across the globe by the end of this year or early next year.
The 2016 Jaguar XJ keeps the basic design intact, but comes with new features to differentiate itself from the outgoing model. It includes new LED head- and tail-lamps, re-designed bumpers and new alloy wheel designs.
For the 2016 range, Jaguar is adding two new variants, Jaguar XJ R-Sport and Jaguar XJ Autobiography LWB, to the current line-up that includes the Jaguar XJ Luxury, XJ Premium Luxury, XJ Portfolio and the Jaguar XJR.
Inside, Jaguar introduces new seat upholstery options, an 8-inch infotainment unit with Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with full-screen navigation and small design tweaks for an updated look.
Under the hood, the 2016 Jaguar XJ will continue to offer the same engines, which include a 2.0-liter turbo petrol with 240 PS and 340 Nm, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 developing 340PS and 450Nm, and a 5.0-litre V8 available in two states: 510PS/625Nm and 550PS/680Nm (XJR only).
As for the diesel option, Jaguar has re-tuned the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, which now develops 296 bhp and 700 Nm (100 Nm increase from the previous unit). Both engines will be coupled to the existing 8-speed ZF automatic transmission as standard.
The updated XJ is expected in Indian showrooms late this year or early next year.
