Nissan will reveal the 2015 Nissan Murano crossover at the 2014 New York Auto Show that begins on the 16th of April. Along with the crossover, the company will also showcase an unnamed concept vehicle, according to an Edmunds report.
The new Murano is inspired by the Nissan Resonance Concept which was showcased at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The incoming model will feature the sculptural design theme along with the V-motion grille and floating roof.
Speaking to Edmunds, Fred Diaz - Nissan North America senior vice president of sales, marketing, parts and service - said that dealers who were shown the production car's pictures grew very excited about it.
The 2015 Nissan Murano will be similar in size as the current model which will stay a five seater. Nissan spokesman Dan Bedore told Edmunds that there was no need for another three row crossover, as the Rogue comes with the optional third row seat, as well as the Pathfinder.
The new Murano will share its underpinnings with the front-drive platform that supports the Altima and Pathfinder. Powertrain details weren't shared, though a hybrid variant is expected by Edmunds.
The new Murano will compete with the Ford Edge, Honda CR-V and Toyota Venza.
