The Maxximo Plus is the best selling Mahindra product in Sri Lanka.
The Mahindra XUV500, Quanto, Genio pickup and Maxximo Plus have been showcased at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show in Sri Lanka. These models are recent introductions in the Sri Lankan market.
Mahindra XUV500
Mahindra's flagship offering is the brand's first homegrown monocoque front-wheel drive SUV. The crossover which derives its design inspiration from a cheetah, measures 4,585 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,785 mm in height and 2,700 in wheelbase.
Power comes from a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine which is capable of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm. The transmission is a 5-speed manual unit.
Mahindra Quanto
The Mahindra Quanto is essentially a chopped version of the Xylo MPV. The 5-seat ladder-frame vehicle is 3,985 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, 1,880 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,760 mm.
The compact car is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder twin-stage turbo diesel engine which produces 100 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800 rpm. A 5-speed gearbox sends power to the rear wheels.
Mahindra Genio
The Mahindra Genio, a pickup based on the Xylo platform, was also on display at the show. Available only in the double cab body style in Sri Lanka (single cab available in India), the cargo mover has a maximum payload capacity of 1,100 kg.
The cargo box measures 1,500 x 1,600 x 500 (LxWxH in mm). The Genio is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which generates 75 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque at 1,400 to 2,200 rpm.
Mahindra Maxximo Plus
The Mahindra Maxximo Plus light commercial vehicle is the Indian automaker's best selling model in Sri Lanka.
Powered by a 909 cc twin-cylinder diesel engine which puts out 26 bhp at 3,600 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 1,800-2,200 rpm, the LCV has a payload capacity of 850 kg.
The top-end variant is equipped with Fuel Smart technology (two driving modes) and audio player with USB connectivity. The cargo box measures 2280 x 1540 x 330 (LxWxH in mm).
