The new Proton Saga FLX Executive and Persona Executive variants went on sale in Malaysia. While the new Saga FLX Executive replaces the old Executive variant, the Persona Executive is positioned as the new top-end variant, above the SV trim.
The new variants are bestowed with body kits and the Persona Executive gets different front and rear fascias. The FLX Executive gets its looks from the SE variant, offering smoked clear lens LED rear combination lights and 14-inch alloy wheels while the top-end Persona Executive is based on the SV variant and incorporates 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust finisher. Both variants sport foglamps.
On the inside, the dashboard designs vary. Both models come with black leather upholstery, Yes 4G Huddle mobile hotspot and multi-function steering wheel but surprisingly the more expensive Persona Executive lacks electrically adjustable ORVMs that are available on the Saga FLX Executive.
The new variants retain the powertrain lineup. The Saga FLX Executive is powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine outputting 94 bhp and 120 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The Persona Executive derives power from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol motor that is capable of 110 bhp and 148 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Features like ABS and dual airbags are standard across the variants while the Persona Executive gets disc brakes on all wheels.
The Proton Saga FLX Executive ranges from RM41,924 (around INR 7.93 lakhs) to RM44,524 (around INR 8.42 lakhs). The Proton Persona Executive retails from RM49,938 (around INR 9.44 lakhs) to RM52,938 (around INR 10.01 lakhs). Metallic color options add RM400 (arund INR 7,560) to the price tag.
The next gen Proton Saga would be a global product and the development is progressing at full pace.
