Update – The 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible was showcased at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking the car’s debut in the UK.
Joining the Mustang GT at the Detroit Motor Show is this 2015 Mustang Convertible.
The convertible features a new multilayer cloth top with a higher level of insulation. This will go into making the cabin quieter than the previous generation Mustang. The fabric roof lowers down in half the time of the older Mustang convertible.
The Mustang Convertible will be available in US towards the end of this year. Buyers can choose from three engine options – a V6, a four-cylinder and a V8. The V6 motor is a 3.7-liter V6 capable of 300 bhp and 365 Nm of torque. Next up is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine which produces 305 bhp and 406 Nm of torque. The top-end 5.0-liter V8 churns out 420 bhp and 528 Nm of torque.
The new Mustang is based on all-new S550 platform. More details are available in the press release below.
