The 2014 Nissan Teana which was launched in China earlier in the year has been announced for Japan at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. As Nissan puts it, the DNA of the car is "Modern Living" and its market launch will be held in the current fiscal year.
Essentially a rebadged Altima, the new Teana features a pair of swept-back headlamps and a chrome-rich grille. A full length character line, wraparound taillamps and a chrome embellishments are a few other external design features.
The interior gets leather seats, metallic accents on the dashboard and a dark wood trim. The cabin is also appointed with "Zero Gravity" seats that reduce fatigue on long distance journeys, and a multi-faceted infotainment system.
Under the hood, one can find a new QR25DE (petrol) engine that is paired to an X-Tronic CVT. The press release below provides more details on the Japanese specification Teana.
The Teana is assembled for India at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Chennai. As stocks of the current Teana are bound to run out in the foreseeable future, the Teana seen here would sooner or later have to begin sales in India.
