The facelifted Toyota Corolla EX has been launched at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
Toyota sells the old Corolla in China alongside the current generation model as the 'Corolla EX' and the sedan has been given a facelift to squeeze the remaining bit of life out of it. We had already presented our readers with the spy pictures of the car earlier.
The Corolla EX facelift features an all new front fascia which includes new headlamps, chrome front grill and a sculpted bumper. The redesigned front fascia freshens the looks to some extent.
The side profile of the car remains true to the old Corolla while the rear of the car is fitted with large tail lamps. The rear bumper too is a little larger than the old Corolla.
The interiors get new instrument console and center console. The dashboard has minor design upgrades and is finished in black and beige dual tone.
The sedan is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol motor which puts out 120 bhp and is coupled to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearboxes.
The Corolla EX is built by the FAW-Toyota joint venture and is currently the second cheapest Toyota in China after the Yaris. The facelifted car will retail at a price range of 90,800 Yuan (around Rs. 8.09 Lakhs) to 13,800 Yuan (around Rs. 10.14 Lakhs).
