Official - Ford cuts down variants in the 2012 Fiesta range; Prices now start at 7.23 lakhs

Ford Fiesta PowerShift (24)Ford India has launched the 2012 Ford Fiesta line-up with a new starting variant Ambiente. There are a total of six variants now - two petrol, two diesel and two automatic trims. This means the customer is not offered a mid-variant, he either chooses a less equipped model or the top-end model. Is this the result of the buying habits of Fiesta customers so far?

Can you tell me about the price adjustments?

Ford has brought down the starting price of the Fiesta petrol by one lakh rupees using the Ambiente variant with features such as EPAS, Driver Airbag, Driver seat height adjust, ABS, Power mirrors, Turn indicators on ORVM, Tilt Steering, Guide me home headlamp, Front seat belt height adjuster and adjustable rear headrests.

What has changed in the top-end variant?

The Titanium+ will have Cruise Control, Rear Park Assist, Bluetooth®voice control, auto power-fold mirrors, reverse parking sensor and chrome front grille. There have been no changes made to the feature list of this vehicle in the 2012 variant. The Powershift Automatic Titanium+ variant will additionally have leather seats giving a plush and rich feel to the amazing ride experience of customers.

What about the price of the entry level variants for petrol and diesel?

The Ambiente variant in 1.5L Ti-VCT (petrol) is priced at at Rs. 723,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and 1.5L Duratorq TDCi Style (diesel) at Rs. 899,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The AT model is available in two variants– Style and Titanium+ in 1.5L Ti-VCT engine and priced at Rs. 899,000 and Rs. 970,300 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively.
