The Nissan Sunny (Nissan Almera in Malaysia) NISMO performance package was launched at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS).
Visually, the NISMO performance pack adds a five-piece bodykit (front and rear bumper spoilers, a boot spoiler and side skirts) which the manufacturer claims will reduce 'lift and drag', thus offering better aerodynamics.
Mechanically, a NISMO sports exhaust muffler (in stainless steel), and a NISMO suspension system are on offer. While the exhaust system promises to provide a sharper engine response, the new shocks and springs reduce the car's ground clearance by 30 mm.
The rims have been upgraded to 16-inch alloys sporting a diamond-cut finish, while the tires are broader with a lower side wall (205/50) and come with an asymmetrical tread pattern.
Nissan will begin retailing these NISMO parts as a kit, and they can be specced on any variant/any color. If you would like all the above parts, Nissan would like RM 13,000 (INR 2.55 lakhs) of your money! Or, if you opt only for the visual upgrades, Nissan will charge you a lower RM 8,000 (INR 1.57 lakhs).
Mechanically, the Sunny in Malaysia is powered by the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, though in India it produces 99 PS and 134 Nm of torque, in Malaysia it produces 102 PS and 139 Nm of torque thanks to Nissan’s CVTC (Continuously Variable-valve Timing Control).
