M&M has confirmed that a facelift of the KUV100 is on its way and will launch before the end of 2017. The updated model is expected to be priced between Rs. 4.60 lakh and Rs. 7.40 lakh. Mahindra KUV100 – Overview

The KUV100 made its debut in December 2015, followed by its launch in January the next year making it their second product based on a monocoque chassis. While it got off to a decent start averaging around 4,000 units during the first six months, a year later, sales have halved. In January 2017, new dual tone variants and 15-inch alloy wheels were added to the lineup. Clearly, things have not gone as planned, which is why Mahindra has decided to give the KUV100 an emergency facelift less than two years after its launch. Apart from the domestic market, the KUV is also sold in South Africa and the left hand drive version, which made its debut at Automobile Barcelona, is headed to Europe this year.

In June 2017, Mahindra announced that the Scorpio, KUV100 and XUV500 will be given a facelift before the end of the year. Expect the updated KUV100 to arrive in showrooms in the festival season.

Current reports do not indicate a change in specifications, which means the KUV100 will continue with the 1198 cc mFalcon G80 petrol and D75 diesel engines. The Mahindra KUV100 does without an automatic transmission option, for now.

Reports suggest, based on inputs from prospective customers, that Mahindra will make changes to the design, front and rear. The update will see the KUV100 nixing several cuts and creases that adorn its exterior. The new model KUV100 will get a new headlamp profile and new chrome studs on the toothed grille. Changes will also be made to the front bumper and rear bumper. Spy shots also reveal a new smoked alloy wheel design. On the inside, the dual tone interior with piano-black inserts could continue unchanged. KUV100 offers flexible seating for 6 along with flat folding rear seats, under-floor and underseat storage spaces. Currently, the car comes with a 2-DIN audio unit. However, with almost all competitors offering touchscreen units, Mahindra may consider adding it to the top end K8 trim.

The engine and transmission lineup will be carried forward unchanged. The addition of automatic transmission could help the KUV100 appeal to a new audience, but there are currently no reports suggesting Mahindra is considering it.
