Mahindra KUV100 sales cross 50,000 units in India

Mahindra's smallest crossover was launched in January 2016.

The Mahindra KUV100 was launched in India in January 2016. 15 months later, the crossover-styled hatchback has reached the 50,000-unit sales milestone in the country.

The Mahindra KUV100 is available in K2, K2+, K4, K4+, K6, K6+ and K8 grades.

Specifically, Mahindra has sold 50,288 units of the Mahindra KUV100 in India. In June last year, the B-segment hatchback overtook the Mahindra Bolero to become the brand's best-selling vehicle. Over the 15-month period, Mahindra expanded the KUV100 range with the launch of the Xplorer edition and a new top-end K8 grade. It also began exporting the model, with South Africa among the first countries to receive the entry-level Mahindra.

The Mahindra KUV100 measures 3,675 mm in length, 1,705 mm/1,715 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,385 mm. It has a ground clearance of 170 mm and is available in 3+3, 6-seat and 2+3, 5-seat seating configurations. mFalcon G80 petrol and mFalcon D75 diesel are the engine options.

The petrol engine produces 61 kW (82 bhp) at 5,500 rpm and 115 Nm of torque between 3,500 rpm and 3,600 rpm, while the diesel engine develops 57.4 kW (77 bhp) at 3,750 rpm and 190 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,250 rpm. Power is channelled to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI-rated fuel economy figure is 18.15 km/l (petrol)/25.32 km/l (diesel).

The Mahindra KUV100 is available in K2, K2+, K4, K4+, K6, K6+ and K8 grades. A two-tone colour scheme, daytime running lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, rear spoiler, engine start-stop system, infotainment system with 3.5-inch display, ABS with EBD, dual-airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts are key features of the car.

The KUV100 starts at INR 4,58,282 (ex-showroom Delhi).
