As we are all aware that Fiat has already given the Linea a mid-life facelift to keep things fresh as a daisy. The production of the new Linea has already commenced in Bursa, Turkey.
As you can see the changes are purely cosmetic in nature and very minor to the amateur eye.
There is a lot of chrome on the front fascia to make it look up market. The front grille gets chrome linings to accentuate the horizontal elements. The headlamps and the foglamps are carried over from the outgoing model. Coming to the rear, nothing has changed drastically. There is a huge chrome bar running on the rear bumper. The tail lamps haven’t been touched.
Major changes have been made to the interior. The dashboard is combination of light beige and black. There is a new music panel in place which looks fantastic. The AC vents have been redesigned to gel well with the new console. The sqaured elements have been rounded and the plastics have been polished.
Safety features include six airbags, ESP, ABS and ASR. The Blue & Me system is now updated with the EcoDrive software, which interprets the driving mode of the driver, thus helping them drive efficiently.
The facelifted Linea comes in 3 engine options
- 1.4L petrol with 78 hp
- 1.3L diesel with 96 hp
- 1.6L diesel with 107 hp
Though this is a purely cosmetic facelift, Fiat India has no plans to bring the new Linea to Indian shores this year. Maybe, the facelifted Linea will head to India in 2013 as Fiat India's CEO told us that they will "work on the facelifts" without giving us a time frame. Until then, have a look at the Turkish TV ad for the new Linea that will win your heart!
