Packs 158 bhp.
The Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione will make its Indian debut at the Autocar Performance Show which is scheduled to take place from December 11-14 in Mumbai.
Fiat announced a long time ago that it will launch the Abarth brand in India. The 595 would be the first product to carry the Scorpion badge in the country.
Power comes from a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol which pumps out a healthy 158 bhp and 210 Nm of torque which can be boosted to 230 Nm by selecting the 'Sport' mode. The motor is mated to a 5-speed AMT.
At 3,657 mm in length, 1,627 mm width and 1,485 mm in height, the Abarth 595 is a pocket rocket. Visual enhancements include a prominent Abarth badge upfront (in place of Fiat's), new bumpers, 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli PZero 205/40 tyres and graphite finish for the ORVMs.
Inside, the performance hatchback is equipped with a flat bottomed steering wheel, race seats, machined alloy pedals and a graphite treatment for the dashboard. The instrument panel is replaced by a LCD display.
Expected to be priced around INR 25-30 lakhs, the CBU would be sold in limited numbers and will be positioned as a more exclusive alternative to the newly launched Mini Coopers.
Competitor: Mini Cooper 3-door
Expected Price: INR 25-30 lakhs, ex-showroom
Launch Date: December 2014
