Fiat India will launch the Abarth 500 next month, reports RushLane. The Abarth 500 will be the final launch for the company this year, as the Punto-based Avventura launches this month.
The Abarth 500 was showcased at the Auto Expo this year. Based on the Fiat 500 which was sold in limited numbers in the country, the Abarth is the performance oriented version of the small car. It is powered by the 1.4-liter T-Jet engine (borrowed from the Linea, but with further tuning) producing 140 hp and 206 Nm of torque.
It does 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and achieves a top-speed of 205 km/h. The transmission is a 5-speed manual unit, sending power to the front wheels.
The car gets features like gas discharge headlights, a sunroof, cross drilled brake disc, sports seats, lowered suspension with up-rated springs, 17-inch alloy wheels, 7 airbags, turbo-boost gauge, twin exhaust outlets, ABS, EBD and HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistance), parking sensors, foglights and a Hi-fi music system.

The Abarth 500 is expected to launch in India as a CBU (completely built up unit) with the mandate to shape the Fiat brand in India, and give Abarth a launch pad.
