In a phased manner, Baojun has completely revealed the CN210S. Earlier this month it had released the SUV’s exterior images, and now, it has released the interior images. Separately, IAB can reveal through live images that the new model is named 'RS-5'.
The Baojun RS-5 is the brand’s new flagship SUV, and its top-positioning is clearly visible in the interior design, which is completely new. The two-tone colour scheme and the minimalist approach in the design make the cabin look quite luxurious. Configurable virtual instrument cluster, a freestanding large colour central display for the infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control and panoramic sunroof are some of the main features visible in the images.
The Baojun RS-5 is what the HS is for MG, a D-segment SUV. In a first for any of the brand’s models, it uses a newly developed platform that will underpin even an MPV in the future.
The Baojun RS-5 measures 4,570 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width and 1,705 mm/1,720 mm in height. It has a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Despite the large dimensions, it’s a five-seater. Under the hood is the LJO 1.5-litre engine that is made by SAIC-GM-Wuling. It develops a maximum power of 111 kW (150.92 PS). This presumably turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit likely sends power to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The fuel consumption rating is 8.0 L/100 km, which converts to a fuel economy of 12.5 km/l.
