Tata Motors will launch a refreshed Tigor with updated styling and new equipment on 10 October. The company has released a new teaser video revealing some of the new features early on.
On the outside, the updated Tata Tigor’s projector headlamps have a chrome finish, and its tail lamps are partly clear-lens units. A shark fin antenna has replaced the micro antenna. The body paint choices include a new navy blue hue, which, as per reports, is called ‘Egyptian Blue’. One can expect extra chrome garnish too.
The most significant update is actually on the inside, where Tata Motors has introduced a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. According to the report, it’s a 7-inch unit sourced from Harman, and it will support Apple CarPlay from 2019, presumably via a software update. The new system is flush-mounted, and it makes the centre console cleaner. The company will offer it in a new top-of-the-line ‘XZ+’ grade.
The engine options will remain the same: 1.2L Revotron petrol and 1.05L Revotorq diesel. The petrol engine develops 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The diesel engine produces 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000 rpm. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual (petrol-only) will remain the transmission choices.
Tata Motors won’t offer an XZ+ equivalent XZA+ grade. In other words, it will keep the 7-inch infotainment system exclusive to the MT configurations.

The Tata Tigor XZ+ is likely to cost around INR 30,000 more than the XZ grade, which retails at INR 6,18,126* (petrol)/INR 7,06,028* (diesel).
