The Tata Harrier was also undergoing high-speed testing for straight line and cornering stability at the Kari Motor Speedway.

According to the report, the Tata Harrier was being tested for high-speed cornering stability and to fine-tune suspension and steering settings. Tata Motors is working hard on getting the ride and handling package right. The publication claims that the test mule featured 16-inch alloy wheels with 235/70 R16 tires.

That said, our exclusive spy images revealed the top-end Tata Harrier gets meaty 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The Land Rover Discovery Sport-derived Omega Arc platform allows for large wheel arches. The Harrier will debut Tata Motors’ Impact Design 2.0 and will launch in India in Q1 2019.

Recent spy shots reveal that the production-spec Tata Harrier doesn’t deviate from the Tata H5X concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. IAB’s exclusive rendering is a glimpse of the final design of the Harrier. The SUV features the large Humanity Line grille with sleek LED daytime running lights, while the LED projector headlamps, cornering lights, and fog lamps sit lower on the bumper.

Interior spy shots reveal that lower variants will receive monochromatic MID unit, and won’t get the dashboard-mounted infotainment system. The SUV will receive features like drive mode selector, a cruise control system and automatic climate control among others.

Powering the Tata Harrier will be the Fiat-sourced 2.0-liter, Multijet II four-cylinder diesel engine, which also powers the Jeep Compass. It will reportedly produce 140 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors is also likely to offer a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
