Ford India plans to roll out an updated version of the Figo in the coming months. This month, dealer sources informed IAB that their inventory of the hatchback is drying up with fresh orders not planned until the 2018 Ford Figo (facelift) is announced.

The Ford Figo is likely to go on sale at the start of the festival season.

The remaining stock with dealerships in some parts of the country is being offered with discounts to the tune around INR 1 lakh. The four-door Ford Aspire is being offered with cash benefits worth INR 80,000 and a 0% interest finance scheme.

The offers are said to run until the end of July, which could mean that the facelift is programmed to go on sale in August. A report from May mentions the new Ford Figo's launch month as October. However, with stocks drying up, Ford could be planning an earlier launch.

When IAB asked, Ford officials refrained commenting on the launch of the 2018 Ford Aspire and 2018 Ford Figo.

The facelift will bring cosmetic revisions and additions to the feature pack. Changes to the exterior include a new grille mesh replacing the horizontal chrome louvres, a new front bumper with C-shape silver finish inserts, and faux air vents towards the edges of the rear bumper. Mildly revised headlamp and tail lamp clusters, similar to the Ford Freestyle's, will be offered along with new 14-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the centre console will change to incorporate a 6.5-inch touchscreen for the SYNC3 infotainment setup. Its layout will be identical to the Ford Freestyle's dashboard albeit with a different colour scheme.

The 2018 Ford Figo will borrow the Freestyle's new Dragon 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine. This 96 PS and 120 Nm mill will replace the current 1.2 L Ti-VCT unit that develops 88 PS and 112 Nm. It will pair with a new 5-speed transmission. While the 1.5 L TDCi diesel engine will step forward, it will be mated to a new 5-speed manual transmission as well on the 2018 Figo.
