Ashok Leyland will expand the Dost LCV range over the current financial year the company has announced. Expansion to newer markets through the export of Ashok Leyland Dost range of light commercial vehicles is also being looked at.
Speaking to The Economic Times, Ashok Leyland, Light Commercial Vehicle, President, Nitin Sethi said -
We will be showcasing new range of DOST models during the upcoming dealers global conference (on April 18). We have announced Rs 400 crore investment for developing new platform. We will be expanding DOST with new models.
Speaking about exports, he added that left-hand drive markets like Russia and African countries were being looked at for expansion. The company will be looking to ship the Dost to newer markets in the second half of 2018.
The company clocked sales of 43,411 units in the LCV segment over the course of the 2017-18 financial year. This has been their best performance since their entry into the segment in September 2011. The growth of the LCV segment has pushed the company to announce an investment of INR 400 crore into the expansion of its light commercial vehicles product line. The company is developing new products keeping the BS 6 emission norms that come into effect 2020 onwards in mind.

The Ashok Leyland Dost is powered by a 1.5 L 3-cylinder common rail TDCR generating 58 hp and 157.5 Nm of torque. As per the official website, the Dost LCV range starts at INR 5,37,963 (ex-showroom).
