Tata Motors is readying a pure electric variant of the Tata Tigor for the Indian government. An ARAI document posted by Team-BHP forum member Senna4Ever has leaked the Tata Tigor EV’s specifications.
The Tata Tigor EV is 3,992 mm long, 1,677 mm wide and 1,537 mm tall. It has a 2,450 mm wheelbase. These figures are the same as those of the regular Tata Tigor. What mainly differentiates it, is obviously the powertrain. Instead of a small combustion engine, there’s a 29.8 kW (39.95 hp) electric motor in the Tata Tigor EV.
The maximum power output of the Tata Tigor EV is much lower than the Tata Tiago EV’s electric motor, which generates 85 kW (113.94 hp). The Tata Tiago EV is a prototype, though. The Tata Tigor EV will compete with the Mahindra eVerito, which is powered by a 30.5 kW (41 hp) electric motor. Tipping the scales at 1,516 kg, however, it is nearly 200 kg lighter comparatively.
