With the 2018 Ford EcoSport’s launch in India closing in, dealerships have started offering big discounts on the pre-facelift model. According to a report from BW Businessworld filed by Avishek Banerji, dealerships in Delhi & NCR are offering a discount of INR 30,000-1,00,000 on the old model.
The old Ford EcoSport is available in Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium, Titanium (AT) and Titanium+ grades. Speaking about the discount on the pre-facelift model to the business publication, a dealership source said: “As a stock clearing exercise, any customer walking into our dealerships is assured of a Rs. 30,000 discount on the MRP. For certain variants like Titanium, we do not mind offering a discount to the tune of Rs. 1 lakh.”
The dealership source has also indicated that the bookings for the 2018 Ford EcoSport will open soon. The facelifted model gets a notably revised front-end with a new hexagonal grille, larger headlamps, triangular fog lamps and restyled bumper. Inside, the sub-4m SUV incorporates a grab bar on the dashboard and the new Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system. Other changes will include newly designed steering wheel, centre console and instrument cluster, and the fitment of a floating central display for the infotainment system.

The 2018 Ford EcoSport will debut the new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine from the Dragon engine family. The naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol mill develops 123 PS and 150 Nm of torque. It sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine (100 PS/205 Nm) was upgraded two years back. Changes in this engine, if planned, are unknown. There’s no word on the 1.0-litre EcoBoost (125 PS/170 Nm) turbocharged petrol engine’s continuation.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport’s launch will take place on 9 November, 2017. Deliveries should commence the same month.
