Expected to be launched in India next year.
The facelifted Ford EcoSport had its world premiere at a special event in Los Angeles yesterday. The company has released a few videos of the new model to show the exterior and interior changes in detail.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport gets a notably redesigned front fascia inspired by the Ford Escape (Ford Kuga). Bigger headlamps, new trapezoidal grille, reshaped fog lamps, resculpted bonnet, redesigned bumper and apron and faux skid plates are the key exterior changes. The U.S.-spec version swaps the tailgate-mounted spare wheel for a tyre inflater kit.
A lot of attention has been given to make the interior premium. The facelifted Ford EcoSport's new steering wheel has been borrowed from the Ford Espace. The instrument panel and centre console are also completely new. The dashboard gets a front passenger grab rail.
Ford EcoSport passengers won't be left feeling bored, thanks to the premium Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system with a high-resolution, 8-inch floating touch screen and a high-end 675-watt, 10-speaker sound system which includes B&O PLAY-branded tweeters and woofers in the front doors and a subwoofer in the back.
From early 2018, the U.S. market will enjoy the Dearborn automaker's smallest global SUV. The U.S.-spec version will be available in four trim levels – S, SE, SES and Titanium, with 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged three-cylinder and 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engines. Both engine models will feature a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the 2.0-litre model will be equipped with a four-wheel drive system as standard.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport should be launched in India sometime next year.
