The company also stated that it has involved part suppliers from USA, Germany, Austria, France, Saudi Arabia, China, South Korea and Indonesia. Lear Corporation, who supply seats for Mercedes-Benz, are involved with the Hexa project too.

Speaking about the SUV itself, Tata said that the Hexa originally went by by project name 'Eagle'. The company was keen to highlight the music system of the Hexa: a 10-speaker JBL sound system with 320 Watt DSP amplifier and subwoofer that took a team of Harman/JBL acoustics experts over 1,000 hours to fine-tune.

The Tata Hexa will be available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants, the latter getting a Borg Warner-made electronically controlled AWD system with torque-on-demand, and a Super Drive Mode with four driving modes. The 2.2-liter VariCOR diesel engine, which delivers 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque, is paired to 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, the latter gets a 'Sport' mode for better response.
