Skoda India's Szuflak believes it will be the big change.
By the end of next year, Skoda will reveal the next iteration of its Superb luxury sedan, as confirmed by the VW Group. The new Superb shares over 50 percent of its components with the new B8 VW Passat which was launched a couple of months ago.
Where the Passat looks typical of a Volkswagen with its largely understated design, the new Superb is described as being a "revelation" by the company's Chairman, Dr. Winfried Vahland. While details on the design of the new Superb are still scarce, reports suggest that the VisionC concept, presented at this year's Geneva Motor Show, will largely influence the styling.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog this week in Mumbai, Pawel Szuflak, Director for Sales and Marketing for Skoda Auto India Private Limited, said -
Personally I've seen the new version of it (Superb). The car looks absolutely great. I believe it will be the big change for Skoda, and also the customers who are purchasing this car.
For the new Superb, Skoda will not offer engines beyond 2.0-liter four-cylinder units, and the twin-door boot will not be present. A plug-in hybrid variant could be offered however.
