Made its debut at Auto Shanghai 2015.
Shanghai-GM is showcasing the China-made 2016 Buick Verano at the 2015 Chengdu Motor Show, which made its debut at the Auto Shanghai 2015.
The exterior of the 2016 Buick Verano draws design inspiration from the Buick Riviera and Buick Avenir concepts, which influence more future models. The front end features the characteristic Buick waterfall grille flanked by Avenir-esque wing-shaped headlights with LED DRLs.
It features bold character lines across the side profile, while the rear end sports dual integrated inset exhausts and wing-shaped taillights. Top-spec models will sit on 17-inch, 10-spoke aluminum rims.
Powering the Buick Verano is a 1.5-liter SIDI turbocharged engine producing 166 bhp and 250 Nm at 1,700-4,400 rpm. It is paired to a new seven-speed DCG transmission which drives the front wheels. The Verano is claimed to return an average fuel consumption of 16.3 km/L.
The 2016 Buick Verano will be positioned between the recently launched Buick Excelle GT and Buick Regal.
