Force Motors showcased a Super Luxury Traveller at the 4th Bus and Special Vehicles Show in Greater Noida. Based on the platform of the 26-seater Traveller, the Super Luxury can seat 15 people.
It features an air suspension, a first in this category, and is ideal for 5-star hotel guest movement and inter-city luxury travel, says Force Motors. The cabin is appointed with extra wide 2x1 reclining seats, side sliding aisle seats, factory fitted air conditioning with individual air vents and stuck glass on sides and rear for reduced NVH.
Power comes from a 2,149 cc four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 129 PS at 3,800 rpm and 295 Nm of torque between 1,600-2,400 rpm. The Mercedes engine is BS3 compliant, and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Power steering is part of the standard kit.
This particular platform of the Traveller 26 seater, is a monocoque chassis, and makes the 26 the world's largest monocoque van. The vehicle was first showcased at the 2012 edition of the Auto Expo and launched shortly after.
The Super Luxury, dimensionally is the same as the 26, which measures 6,770 mm in length, 2,225 mm in width, 2,670 mm in height and 4,020 mm in wheelbase. Weighing 3,050 kg (kerb weight), Force Motors says it has a turning radius of 7 meters.
