The sedan gets the TRD treatment extending to visual updates.
The Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo is on showcase at the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014).
Based on the new Vios which was launched in Indonesia in May last year, the TRD kit adds visual appeal to the Honda City challenger by the way of lip spoilers, side skirts, LED daytime running lights, new alloy wheels, TRD logos and decals and an integrated spoiler.
There are no mechanical changes to the Vios TRD and it continues to be powered by the four-cylinder 1.5-liter VVT-i engine which produces 109 PS (107.5 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 14.4 kgm of torque (141.2 Nm) at 4,200 rpm. The sedan is available with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, the latter of which is seen in the show car.
Features on the Vios include projector headlights, alloy wheels, keyless entry with engine starter button, automatic AC, steering-mounted controls and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Toyota does not sell the Vios in India. Instead, the carmaker offers the Etios sedan which competes in the lower midsize sedan segment.
