DSK Hyosung launched the 2014 GT250R in India yesterday at a price of INR 2.76 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune. The motorcycle gets revised styling and three new color options of Red Titanium, White Titanium and Black Titanium each of which will be available in three tone shade.
At the front, the headlight cluster of the new GT250R has more in common with the larger GT650R, while the body graphics on the sides of the bike are redesigned.
Mechanically though, the GT250R continues unchanged. Power comes from an oil-cooled, four-stroke, 249 cc V-Twin DOHC engine producing 28 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 22.07 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The drive is transmitted via a 5-speed gearbox. The 188 kg motorcycle has a top-speed of 140 km/h, says Hyosung.
The GT250R measures 2,090 mm in length, 700 mm in width and 1,130 mm in height with a wheelbase spanning 1,435 mm. Stopping power comes from 300 mm double discs at the front and a 230 mm single disc at the rear. The GT250R gets an inverted telescopic layout at the front and a progressive linkage hydraulic mono shock suspension at the rear.
