Ford has perhaps held the largest media drive in India for the Ford EcoSport. International journalists from places like Australia and South Africa descended on Goa last week to test the company's smallest crossover yet for the first time in Right-Hand Drive format.

Last week we brought you news that the Made in India EcoSport would head to Australia this December. However, before that, the India-made EcoSport would be heading to Nepal. In fact, Ford would launch the car in Nepal as soon as the bookings of the car commence in India next month according to a local media report.

The authorized Ford distributor in Nepal is Go Ford. The distributor could have a demo car for viewing purposes "very soon" reports The Himalayan Times.

Like India, Nepal would also get the EcoSport in three engine options - the 1.5-liter petrol, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost turbo petrol and the 1.5-liter diesel. Ford will offer the 1.5-liter petrol with an option of a 6-speed dual clutch AT while a 5-speed manual transmission will feature in the rest of the range.

The EcoSport for Nepal will be offered in four trim levels - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional which is the range for Indians too. Prices of the EcoSport would tear through the roof as the customs duty for cars is over 200% in Nepal. The demand level hence won't cause any appreciable strain on the production lines in Chennai or say stall deliveries in India.

The Ford SYNC system which allows you to pair your mobile device and access music will also be offered. However, whether the SYNC based Emergency Assistance would also be offered in the Nepali variant is still unknown.
