According to AlVolante, FCA has announced that they have received 1,000 pre-orders for the Fiat Tipo sedan in Italy, since it was launched in November. According to their study, 20,000 people have enquired about the Fiat Tipo, while 6,000 have taken the model for a test drive.
Priced between EUR 12,500 - EUR 19,900 (INR 8.89 lakhs to INR 14.15 lakhs), the Tipo is available with four engine options: a 90 PS 1.3-liter and 120 PS 1.6-liter Multijet diesel engines, along with a 1.6-liter E-Torq and a 1.4-liter ‘FIRE’ petrol engines. A 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic will serve as its gearbox options.
The report also states that dealerships have ordered three times more number of cars than the initial stock due to the surging demand. To further direct attention towards the Tipo, FCA will introduce the Tipo hatchback and Tipo estate in April 2016, reportedly.
The Fiat Tipo is manufactured at the TOFAS plant in Turkey and will initially be exported to 40 European, Middle Eastern and African markets. Reports suggest that it will also be manufactured in Argentina to cater to the Latin American markets.
