Kinetic Group’s Motoroyale is all set to launch the SWM Superdual T in India on 11 October, sources have revealed to IAB. The adventure tourer was earlier expected to be introduced in September.
The SWM Superdual T debuted in India at the Great Trail Adventure event that was scheduled in Pune in April 2018. Motoroyale will market the SWM brand in India, alongside MV Agusta, Norton Motorcycles, Hyosung and FB Mondial. The SWM Superdual T will rival the Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the Kawasaki Versys 650.
The SWM Superdual is available in two variants - T and X. The Superdual T is the base variant, which receives 19-inch and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and back, respectively. On the other hand, the Superdual X is a thoroughbred off-road variant that features 21- and 18-inch rims at the front and rear.
Both variants receive an optional GT Pack, which includes a pair of 33-litre aluminium side cases. The SWM Superdual T features a 12V charging socket, tall windshield, handguards, LED spotlights, luggage mounting rack, and fairing and engine guards. The bike will be assembled in India at Kinetic's plant in Aurangabad via kits from China.
The SWM Superdual T sources power from a 600 cc, DOHC, Euro 4, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The fuel-injected engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 53.64 bhp at 7,500 rpm while developing a peak torque of 53.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox works with the engine to transfer drive to the wheel via a final chain drive.
Suspension duty is handled by 45 mm USD front forks with 210 mm travel and a manually adjustable rear mono-shock with 220 mm wheel travel. Anchorage is provided by a 300 mm front rotor and a 220 mm rear disc with Brembo callipers. The motorcycle will feature standard dual-channel ABS with a switchable Enduro mode.
The SWM Superdual T comes shod with a 110/80 R19 front and 140/80 R17 rear Metzeler Tourance tyres. On the other hand, the Superdual X receives 90/90 R21 front and 140/80 R18 rear Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara off-road tyres. The Superdual T is expected to carry a price tag of around INR 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
