Ford has announced that it will accept the 2018 Ford EcoSport bookings online exclusively on Amazon.in on 5 November, 2017. The company will accept the pre-orders online only for 24 hours.
2018 Ford EcoSport customers in India will have the convenience of booking online any grade or color of their choice by paying INR 10,000 as the booking amount. Only the first 123 customers will have the ability to do so, though. Ford will deliver the facelifted model to these 123 customers first.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport is 3,998 mm long, 1,765 mm wide and 1,647 mm tall. It has a 2,519 mm wheelbase. The length and wheelbase have reduced by a millimetre in the new model. The boot space has increased to 352 litres (+6 litres) and it is expandable to 1,178 litres (+473 litres) now.
With the mid-cycle refresh, Ford has discontinued the 1.5-litre TiVCT four-cylinder and 1.0-litre EcoBoost three-cylinder petrol engines. The Ford EcoSport is now available with only one petrol engine, the new 1.5-litre TiVCT three-cylinder unit from the Dragon family. The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 123 PS at 6,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TDCi turbo-diesel engine continues as before. It develops 100 PS at 3,750 rpm and 205 Nm of torque from 1,750-3,250 rpm.
Ford will sell the 2018 Ford EcoSport in Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+ grades. Noteworthy features include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, power folding mirrors, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, 8-inch SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats, steering wheel and gearshift knob, rearview camera and six airbags.
