Yesterday, Ford started accepting pre-orders for the 2018 Ford EcoSport online on Amazon.in at 12:00 a.m.
According to a report from The Economic Times, Ford received the consigned 123 pre-orders within less than 12 hours. By 10 a.m. all 123 units available were booked. Most of the pre-orders were in the range-topping Titanium+ grade with the new 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol engine and a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit develops 123 PS and 150 Nm of torque. Setting the bar at 123 units was probably to match the number with this engine’s maximum power output.

Ford has discontinued the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT four-cylinder and 1.0-litre EcoBoost three-cylinder petrol engines now. Also gone, is the 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmission. The fuel economy rating of the 2018 Ford EcoSport is 17 km/l (petrol MT), 14.8 km/l (petrol AT)/23 km/l (diesel MT).
The 2018 Ford EcoSport is available in Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+ grades. On the outside, the facelifted Ford EcoSport features hexagonal radiator grille, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels and power fold mirrors with puddle lamps. There are seven colour choices: Lightning Blue, Canyon Ridge, Race Red, Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Absolute Black and Smoke Grey.
Inside, the new Ford EcoSport has redesigned instrument cluster, steering wheel and centre console, new bucket seats and 8-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system with mobile navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
