The 2017 Cadillac XT5 has been unveiled at the 2015 Dubai Motor Show. It is the first product in the company's new Crossover Touring (XT) model range, replacing the Cadillac SRX.
The exterior is characterised by an upright grille, angular air intakes, distinct headlamps, LED DRLs, a muscular hood, a sloping roof, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior is embellished with a modern design treated with high-quality materials including aluminium, carbon-fibre and wood-fibre appliqués, five colour themes for the cabin, a new CUE infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto supports, and a Head-Up Display as option.
The safety features include Driver Awareness and Driver Assist packages that comprise of automatic braking, Automatic Parking Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Based on an all-new platform that saves 126 kg compared to the SRX, the XT5 gets a 3.6-litre V6 engine for the US and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged motor for China. The former, which produces 310 bhp (231 kW) and 365 Nm (270 lb-ft), is equipped with a start/stop system, cylinder deactivation technology, and variable valve timing. Both engines are offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission with an Electronic Precision Shift system. An All-Wheel Drive system will be available optionally.
The 2017 Cadillac XT5 will enter production in the US and in China, in the March-June period of 2016. You can find more info in the press release pasted below the gallery.
