The Alfa Romeo Tipo 949 will go on sale in 2017.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia saloon that was unveiled in June will be followed by its crossover equivalent this year. Internally known under the codename Alfa Romeo Tipo 949, the crossover has apparently surfaced for the first time undisguised.
Ralph Gilles, FCA Global Head of Design, has posted a picture of famous Lorenzo Ramaciotti sitting in the trunk of of the Tipo 949. Mr. Ramaciotti, a legendary Italian car designer, is currently a special advisor to FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne.
The teaser is purposely washed out to hide the exterior and interior but the dashboard does appear to be similar to that of the Alfa Romeo Giulia. So far, the crossover has been spotted testing in a modified Fiat 500L body, but this image appears to be of the production version.
