IAB Report – Harley Davidson Breakout launched in India at INR 16.28 lakhs
As a toddler, those wheeled machinery fascinated me even before I knew what they’re called as! So here I’m, petrolhead by birth, Mechanical engineer by qualification and automotive reporter by profession!
Assembled in India.
The Harley Davidson Breakout has been launched in India at INR 16.28 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Softail cruiser is positioned above the Fat Boy.
The low-slung Breakout comes with a Hard Candy large metal flake paint finish which is available in 6 color options – Quicksilver Flake, Radioactive Green, Superior Blue, Mysterious Red Sunglo, Charcoal Pearl and Vivid Black. The motorcycle sits on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.
The fuel tank features a unique 3D Harley Davidson emblem. Like any other HD cruiser, the Breakout sports chrome treatment for the engine, downtubes and forks. The 240 mm wide rear wheel and black finished exhaust canisters complement the sportiness of the motorcycle. Harley Davidson offers a wide range of customization.
The three-in-one (Stop/turn/tail) rear lights are notable and so is the HD Smart Security keyless ignition. The brakes are equipped with ABS.
A TwinCam 103 V-Twin air-cooled engine develops a commendable 130 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. A 6-speed Cruise Drive gearbox takes care of the transmission.
The cruiser is 2,445 mm long and has a wheelbase of 1,710 mm. Seat height and ground clearance stand at 660 mm and 120 mm respectively.
