Gets a body kit and black alloy wheels.
The Toyota Rush TRD Sportivo edition is showcased at the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). It is based on the refreshed Rush which was launched in Indonesia late last year. The mini SUV comes with side body decals with the TRD livery, and a dual-tone bonnet finished in black and white.
A full body kit with side skirts and 6-spoke black alloy wheels are other design elements seen on the Ford EcoSport competitor. There are no mechanical changes to the car.
The mini SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder 16v gasoline engine which is capable of producing 109 PS (107.5 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 14.4 kgm (141.2 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox, though the show car featured the auto box.
Toyota have no plans of launching the Rush in India. Sources have told Indian Autos Blog that redesigning the nine-year old mini SUV (which is over 4m long) to run with a diesel engine will prove to be complicated and expensive, which would ultimately have a lot going against it.
The next generation Rush however could be developed with the idea of selling it in markets like India where diesel is preferred over petrol in the B Segment.
