Whitley, UK - To mark the occasion of the Land Rover Discovery's 25th anniversary, the company will release the Discovery XXV Special Edition model in the fourth quarter of 2014 at a price of 63,000 UK pounds (65.47 lakh rupees).
The British carmaker launched the Discovery in Plymouth, UK in 1989. Since then over a million examples have been sold across the world. The company had launched the 2014 Discovery (global premiere was at IAA 2013) earlier this month at the Auto Expo for India.
The Discovery XXV Special Edition comes in a choice of four exterior colors: Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and Indus Silver. It features Narvik Black grille surrounds and mirror caps, full-length silver roof rails, body-colored handles and a stainless steel bumper accessory tread plate.
The special model gets ‘XXV’ badging on the front door and tailgate, and is fitted with newly designed 20-inch five-split-spoke forged alloy wheels in a light polished-silver finish.
The interior is in the HSE specification. The fascia, the instrument panel binnacle and door top rolls are lined with Windsor leather. The interior can be chosen in three colors - Ebony, Cirrus or dual-tone Ebony/Cirrus. Other interior highlights include twist pile carpet mats and a leather-wrapped wooden steering wheel and 'XXV' embossing.
