Hyundai Azera, also known as Hyundai Grandeur in some market, is a front-wheel-drive executive sedan. Hyundai launched the Azera (Grandeur) in 1986 as the flagship model on its product range. However, later on, the South Korean car brand introduced other newer models that replace the Azera to be the high-end cars of the line-up.
After more than 3 decades, Hyundai Azera remains an attractive offering. Throughout its lifetime, the Hyundai Azera has undergone five-generation updates. At the moment, besides the mother market, Hyundai Azera is available in some other markets including China, the Middle East and America.
In the international market, the Azera is known for being the ultimate luxury and premium sedan. This executive sedan is about to receive a new generation update next year in its home country. The existing model is a six-gen version. It was given a facelift back two years ago.
In terms of design, the Hyundai Azera’s dominant design characteristic is its sharp and premium design. Thanks to its appealing design, the Azera is able to remain the customers’ interest throughout the years. Moreover, on the inside, the executive sedan is equipped with a host of high-end features like a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, climate control system to name a few. With regards to safety, the Hyundai Azera comes with a high-tech safety kit including functions like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning (FCA-JT), Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM), Parking Collision Avoidance Assist Reverse (PCA-R), Highway Driving Assistance (HDA), and Safe Exit Assist.
About the powertrains, the Hyundai Azera is offered various options. There are four engines, a 2.5-litre N.A engine (198PS/248Nm), 3.3-litre V6 petrol (294PS/343Nm), a 2.4-litre petrol hybrid unit (PS/Nm), and a 3.0-litre petrol-LPG engine (PS/Nm).
Hyundai Azera is not available in India. Currently, Hyundai is offering three sedan models in our market, including the Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Aura and Hyundai Verna.
It is unlikely that Hyundai will launch the Hyundai Azera in our market. Considering the current demand for sedan models in India, it is unlikely that Hyundai will launch any other sedan in our market.
Hyundai Azera is not on sale in India, so there is no price for the Hyundai Azera in our market. However, in the South Korean market, the premium sedan costs around 28,000 USD (around 21 lakh). The hybrid version’s price can go up to over 38,000 USD (around 28 lakh).
