DSK-Hyosung Motorcycles will launch the GV250 model at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. The GV250 will get a twin-cylinder engine that develops 27 hp.
The GV250, says a report on Autocar Professional, will become the first 250 cc bike in the Indian cruiser segment, with its closest competition coming from the 220 cc Bajaj Avenger and the 350 cc Royal Enfield offerings. Prices would vary, of course, with the GV250 speculated to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh as the bike would take the CKD route to retail in India.
The report also states that Hyosung's RT125D, powered by a single-cylinder 125 cc engine, would be showcased but not launched at the Auto Expo. The report also states that the Hyosung GD250N, previously expected to be launched either at the Auto Expo 2014 or during the first half of this year has been postponed to the second half with supply issue being blamed.
The GD250N can be expected to compete against the KTM Duke 200, says the report.
Hyosung's Indian partner DSK currently assembles all Hyosung bikes sold in India at a facility in Satara, near Pune. The company's own manufacturing facility is expected to go on stream by the end of 2014 in Karad, near Pune.
