Speculations about an adventure variant of the Fiat Argo hatchback have floated on the web for months now. In a new development, Autos Segredos reports that a source has confirmed that this project, codenamed ‘Fiat X6HX’, is a go.
Fiat has already requested suppliers for costing of the Fiat X6HX’s parts. The adventure variant will have a more rugged styling for a crossover-like look. It may feature black body cladding all around, faux silver skid plates and machined alloy wheels in a distinctive design. Inside, not much may look different other than the upholstery and decorative inserts.
Getting to the mechanical changes, the report says that the Fiat Argo’s adventure variant will have a unique suspension tuned to tackle unpaved roads better than the regular variant. There’s no word on which engine will power the car. Fiat may go for the 1.3L Firefly flex-fuel engine to price the car competitively or use the 1.8L E.torQ flex-fuel engine in case the priority is to deliver performance on par with the rivals.
