The Perodua Axia budget small car has been launched at an attractive starting price of RM 24,600 (around INR 4.65 lakhs). The price range extends all the way to RM 42,530 (around INR 8.05 lakhs).
The Daihatsu Ayla-based hatchback is available in four trim levels - E, G, SE and Advance. The fully-loaded Advance gets a sportier front fascia and body kits. The interior of the sub-Myvi offering was inspired by the Perodua Global Model A Segment Space concept that was showcased at the Kuala Lampur Motor Show 2013.

Power comes from a 1.0-litre three-cylinder all-aluminium petrol engine which comes mated either to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The motor develops 65.71 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. The vehicle has a claimed fuel economy of 21.6 km/l.
The small car measures 3,640 mm in length, 1,620 mm in width, 1,510 mm in height and 2,455 Nm in wheelbase. The boot capacity stands at 260 litres.

Perodua has managed to garner 13,500 bookings as of the launch date, which should help the company to reach the set sales target of 30,000 units for 2014.
