It's hardly been a couple of days since we told you about the special edition Nissan Sunny. While the manufacturer was mum about this special edition, we spotted the advertisement in the Times Of India newspaper.

Nissan had advertised saying that the Special Edition would add a few features to the spacious mid size sedan. The added features come in the form of a rear parking camera (which we have always thought was necessary given the Sunny's extended length), a new touch screen multimedia system and a rear spoiler with a chrome garnished trunk lid.

The touch screen multimedia system from Kenwood would now support DVD & USB, apart from including satellite navigation and Bluetooth phone pairing for audio streaming and telephony. The Dolby dts logo can be seen on the system as well.

Apart from the trunk spoiler and the chrome garnish, Nissan says that the special edition will also get special body style moulding.

Upon closer inspection of the advertisement however, we found that the car sported leather/leatherette beige seats as well. It was also found that the dashboard of the car was all black and this suggested that the special edition would be for the base XE model only.

Nissan have just recently updated their website and the pricing for the Sunny Special Edition has also been mentioned. It is as follows:

  • Nissan Sunny XV Special Edition Petrol : INR 8,60,054/-
  • Nissan Sunny XV Special Edition Diesel : INR 9,68,931/-

(All prices ex-Showroom, Delhi)

Price wise, we find that you've to cough up INR 55,301 extra for the special edition over the top of the line XV model.

Mr. Nitish Tipnis, Director, sales & marketing of Nissan India / Hover Automotive India –

"Sunny has been a success in India right from the time of its launch in September 2011 and the car has continued to be a popular choice amongst customers in the mid-sized sedan segment.

The launch of this special edition is a ’thank you’ to our customers for making Sunny such a success. We hope to further delight them with the generous range of enhancements on offer and, as you would expect from Nissan, the addition of even more advanced technology.”
