The local assembly of the FB Mondial HPS 300 modern-retro roadster is slated to begin from tomorrow at Motoroyale’s facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, according to a report from Autocar Professional.
Pune-based Motoroyale, a part of the Kinetic Engineering Group, is a premium motorcycle retailer in India, which specialises in marketing international brands MV Agusta, Norton Motorcycles, SWM, Hyosung, and FB Mondial. Motoroyale launched the FB Mondial HPS 300 in October at a price of INR 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director - Motoroyale, has revealed that the company will tomorrow inaugurate the assembly line at its Ahmednagar plant, which will also mark the beginning of assembly of the HPS 300. Motoroyale has received around 100 bookings for the FB Mondial HPS 300.
The FB Mondial HPS 300 debuted at EICMA 2017 in Milan, Italy. Interestingly, the HPS abbreviation stands for 'hipster', and it’s evident from the design of the motorcycle, which is a mix of a scrambler and a café racer. The bike features a sharp fuel tank, short fenders, single-seat and a drag-style handlebar. The design is highlighted by the oval headlight, bar-end mirrors and the large engine belly cover.
At INR 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom), the FB Mondial HPS 300 is definitely expensive, but has the exclusivity to back it up. It also gets components like upside-down front forks, an adjustable rear mono-shock and an aluminium swingarm. The motorcycle also features a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.
Powering the FB Mondial HPS 300 is a single-cylinder, 249cc, liquid-cooled engine that is good for 25 hp of power and 22 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The HPS 300 doesn’t have direct competition.

Given the price point, it will go up against the BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Cleveland Misfit. The HPS 300 will retail through Motoroyale’s seven outlets across the country, with deliveries set to commence from 16 December. The company is in the process to expand its footprint to 20 showrooms by December 2019.
